  • » Food for Families

    The Knights of Columbus is committed to ending hunger in local communities by encouraging councils to participate in the Food for Families Program.

    The Supreme Council offers financial rebates to councils, assemblies or Squires circles that donate food or money. For councils or assemblies, the Supreme Council will refund $100 for every $500 donated, or for every 1,000 pounds of food that is donated to a parish food pantry, community food bank or soup kitchen. There is a maximum rebate of $500 per fraternal year. Circles will receive a refund from the Supreme Council of $20 for every $100 donated, or every 200 pounds of food that is contributed - up to a maximum refund of $100 per fraternal year. Reported contributions of food and/or monetary donations should be cumulative for the fraternal year and there is no need to send in a refund request every time a contribution is made.

    Participating councils/assemblies/circles can qualify to receive an attractive plaque by reporting activity in the program on the Food for Families Reimbursement Program Form (#10057) to the Supreme Council.

  • » Family of the Month / Year

    The structure of the family is built on strength, faith and love. Strength comes from a bond of togetherness, experience and respect for one another. Families build a strong foundation of faith as they pray, attend Mass and spend time together.

    Every council is encouraged to participate in the “Family of the Month” program. To take part a council selects a member and his family as its “Family of the Month” using the guidelines explained in the Family of the Month form located at kofc.org/forms. After having chosen a family, complete and submit the form to the Supreme Council office. On the 15th day of each month 100 Family of the Month reporting forms are randomly selected and the families chosen receive a Holy Family plaque.

    Annually the State Council recognizes an outstanding family at the State Convention Every council is encouraged to recognize an outstanding family and submit this form to the State Program Director by announced deadline.

  • » Coats for Kids

    The Coats for Kids initiative is designed to keep kids warm in harsh winter months. With many families with young children struggling in tough economic times, there was a clear need to provide warm winter coats to children in their communities. And so, the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program was born.

    Every council is eligible to participate in Coats for Kids. Coats can be purchased at a cost of $220 per case of 12 (including shipping). Access the Coats for Kids order form at kofc.org/forms.

    All cases will contain either boys’ coats or girls’ coats (never both). The size distribution in each case is: two Size S (8), four Size M (10-12), four Size L (14-16) and two Size XL (18). Smaller sizes are also available, and will automatically be included on orders of six cases or more. For orders of less than six cases in which small sizes are desired, please indicate that on the Coats for Kids order form.

  • » Fraternal Remembrance

    Deceased members of the Knights of Columbus, their spouses and Columbian Squires are remembered at a daily Mass at St. Mary’s Church in New Haven.

    The State Council would also like to recognize our deceased members on a timely basis, and send their condolences to these families. When a member dies, the financial secretary is asked to forward the member’s name, his next of kin and their address to the Executive Secretary at Executive Secretary

    Additionally, every council is encourage to submit their Necrology Report to the State Secretary, so that these members can be remembered at the Annual Necrology Mass at the State Convention.
