The mission of Church Activities is to promote and foster stronger ties between local councils and parishes. If the Knights of Columbus is to continue to be a strong right arm of the Church, our councils need to be active, visible and totally integrated into the life of every parish.

  • »Stations of the Cross & Benediction

    On Palm Sunday, Knights and their families gather at the Shrine of Saint Margaret in Bridgeport for the Stations of the Cross and Benediction. Councils are encouraged to promote attendance at this event.
  • » Hour of Prayer Program

    Continuing a decades-long tradition, the Knights of Columbus launched their 2016-2017 international Holy Family Prayer Program. This program kicks off in Connecticut on January 1, 2016 and runs through March 2017. See the schedule below to learn when the Icon will be in your district. Councils are encouraged to conduct the Holy Family Prayer Service within their council and or parish. If there are any questions contact Past State Deputy, F. Joseph Murphy, Marian Icon Chairman.

  • » Living Rosary

    Annually Knights gather at Lourdes of Litchfield (October) and at Ender’s Island (May) to recite the rosary of a group for various intentions, as well as personal intentions for those present. Councils are encouraged to promote attendance at these events.
  • » Keep Christ in Christmas

    Christmas is a time of year of hustle and stress. Remember to take time to remember the real reason of the season and promote programs that have members remember to Keep Christ in Christmas. Encourage members to use Christmas Cards that promote Christmas as a Christian holiday; the use of Advent Wreaths, etc.

  • » RSVP & Vocations Support

    Vocations to the Priesthood and religious life are nurtured in the individual’s home life. Organize programs that encourage individual to discern their own vocation and to answer the call to religious life. The RSVP Program has been established for a way that councils can assist those that enter the seminary or religious – providing financial and moral support.

  • » Vocation Poster Contest

    The Vocation Poster Contest encourages young people to design their own message to promote vocations to the priesthood and religious life for men and women. This context is open to religious education and Catholic school students from 1st Grade thru 8th Grade. Competition is broken down into four categories based on age.

  • » Fr. Michael J. McGivney Guild

    The Fr. Michael J. McGivney Guild serves as a source for information about the life, works and spirituality of our founder. Guild members receive regular updates on the progress of Fr. McGivney's cause for canonization and are invited to participate in promoting devotion to this Servant of God. Member of the Knights of Columbus are not automatically enrolled as Guild member, and must elect to join.
